Motivation

The Ipoh Old Buildings Art Preservation Project is a watercolor sketch project that comprehensively and completely records the appearance of Ipoh and its surrounding historical towns. Through the presentation of art, both local and foreign visitors can better appreciate the historical value of Ipoh town.

This project aims to raise public awareness of the value of art in life and to encourage more people to protect old buildings. It will be promoted and preserved through a book with illustrations and text.

We believe that art is not only a form of expression, but also a link between the past and the present, bringing a sense of history and emotion.

This project will be led by Chin Choon Yau, the secretary of the Menglembu Cultural Association and the founder of the Yi Le Yuan Art Education Institute.

Implementation of The Project

The implementation of the project will include field research, interviews, text processing, and reference photos. Chin Choon Yau will personally complete the watercolor sketches, and it is estimates that 120 works of Ipoh heritage will be created. These works will be compiled and published into a book.

After the works are completed, a touring exhibition will be held in the second half of 2025, allowing viewers to appreciate these art works up close.

In addition, I will actively cooperate with enterprises, groups, and individuals to promote art and culture together, strengthen the influence of the project, and integrate art into society, injecting new vitality into the inheritance.

The Mission

The goal of this project is using art as media to preserve the history and value of Ipoh and its surrounding towns. We want to present a more vivid historical picture for both local and foreign residents.

We hope that this artistic presentation will arouse public awareness of the protection of historical buildings, and at the same time enhance people’s awareness of the importance of art in life.

Through this project, art is the media to pass down Ipoh’s historical treasures, arouse people’s resonance, and allow history and culture come alive in art.

Implementation Strategy

Through this crowdfunding program, we hope to create a theme that will allow the public to continue to receive the same message, and thus strengthen their impression of art. This will lead to more discussion topics and a gradual recognition of the necessity of art.

This strategy aims to gradually build up people’s empathy and recognition of art. Through continuous thematic presentations, the audience will have the opportunity to learn more about and appreciate the value of art, and begin to change their minds.

Through this process, we hope to lead the audience to be more open-minded and to see the arts as an important force affecting individuals and society, and to further participate actively in related discussions and activities. This strategy will not only achieve short-term results, but also lay a solid foundation for long-term arts promotion.

Anticipated Benefits

We look forward to using art to more comprehensively promote and preserve the appearance and stories of Ipoh and its surrounding towns.

Through their participation, sponsoring companies will not only promote cultural heritage, but also have the opportunity to integrate themselves with this new project. This will further enhance the impact and reach of the project. By using art as a medium, they will be able to evoke resonance, pass on values, and let the history and culture of Ipoh shine through art.
